This interactive workshop led by our Member at Large, Dr. Latoya Lee, explores the intersection of feminist theory, self-care, and gardening as a radical practice of healing and resistance. Drawing from Black feminist thought, ecofeminism, and decolonial frameworks, we will examine how tending to the earth and ourselves can counter patriarchal, capitalist, and extractive systems. Participants will engage in collective reflection, learn practical gardening techniques (even for small spaces), and explore how care for plants can parallel care for the body and community. This workshop invites you to reimagine self-care not as indulgence, but as sustenance—rooted in justice, sustainability, and collective liberation.
