- Annual Conference
- Awards and Prizes
The 2020 NWSA National Conference is now cancelled.
"We know that for many of you NWSA also serves as a space of healing and affirmation, which is why cancellation was an especially difficult decision. Nevertheless, we will do our best to create other communal spaces until we are able to meet again. The Conference Co-Chairs and I are considering alternatives for conference programming and will let you know if that is possible."

Accessibility InformationFor any questions or concerns about accessibility at the annual conference and beyond, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Conference registrants may request accessibility services (sign language interpretation, sighted guides, etc.) to facilitate their full participation in the annual meeting. The National Women's Studies Association will make every effort to provide reasonable accommodations to presenters and attendees with disabilities, but please note that some services may be available for only some portions of the conference.
The cut-off for requests is pending. NWSA staff will contact you to discuss needs and possible arrangements. NWSA is committed to making the Annual Conference accessible to all. If a need arises on-site at the annual conference, we encourage you to stop by registration for assistance.
Assisted Listening Devices
Assisted listening devices are portable headsets provided by NWSA's audiovisual company. The devices will connect to the sound board to provide clear and amplified sound directly through the device. If you are interested in reserving one, please fill out the forthcoming accessibility request form.
NWSA will designate all gender restrooms throughout the conference space.
NWSA will have a designated quiet space available for use for all registered attendees during breakout times of the pre-conference and general conference.
Parental Care Room
NWSA will have a designated Parental Care Room for parents and caregivers to take care of feeding infants and children.
Accessible Guest Rooms
All NWSA attendees are responsible for their own guest room accommodations. All official NWSA hotels have accessible guest rooms available. Please indicate your request directly with the hotel when making your reservation.
Fragrance Free Conference Environment
In the interest of supporting our colleagues with sensitivity to alcohols and scent, we ask that attendees refrain from wearing perfumes or fragrances. Perfumes and fragrances (including scented lotions) can negatively affect people with multiple chemical sensitive syndrome (MCS), asthma, and/or autoimmune disorders. For every 100 people in America, there is an average of 10 with asthma, 20 with an autoimmune disorder and/or 12.5 with MCS.
A licensed and bonded childcare service will provide onsite childcare during breakout sessions at the annual conference. Children must be preregistered and the fees prepaid.
Parents are responsible for providing meals, snacks, and drinks for their child as well as all child care items, such as diapers and extra change of clothes. A refrigerator will be available in the childcare room. Please do NOT bring any food items with nuts.
