The Program Administration and Development Committee (PA&D) is a standing committee in NWSA specifically designed to represent the interests and needs of administrators of women's studies programs and departments to the Governing Council of NWSA and to assist NWSA in meeting the needs of women's administrators and their departments and programs.

The PA&D webpages offer a wealth of free downloadable resources for NWSA members.

Women's Centers have representation on the NWSA Governing Council as a standing committee. This is more than a symbolic recognition of the important role that women's centers play in feminist education.

Current initiatives include:

NWSA Data Collection Project

NWSA is partnering with the National Organization for Research (NORC) at the University of Chicago to collect data on the field of women’s studies nationally.

Women of Color Leadership

The WoCLP is designed to increase the number of women of color students and faculty within the field of women’s studies and, consequently, to have an impact on the levels of participation and power by women of color in the PA&D, NWSA, and in the field of women’s studies as a whole.

Governance

This section includes reports, recommendations, constitution, bylaws, elections, policies and so forth.


NWSA CONFERENCE REGISTRATION SCHOLARSHIP/TRAVEL GRANT GUIDELINES

NWSA Conference 2008 Registration Scholarship/Travel Grant

Please note that membership is not denied for lack of funds. You may ask for complimentary membership by downloading filling out and faxing the membership form to the office. Memberships not entered on-line take longer to process.

Once you have completed the application you will not receive additional notification untill all applications have been processed.
Notification of acceptance or decline will be sent to you after March 31st.

100 registration scholarships will be available via the registration scholarship application process for NWSA 2008 presenters. Students, scholars and activists with a demonstrated need for financial assistance are encouraged to apply.

In addition, applicants may receive funding toward travel costs.

Particular consideration will be given to assisting student presenters and emerging scholars who have not previously received NWSA a registration scholarship.

The grants are also intended to encouraging the participation in NWSA of individuals whose presence enriches the diversity of and increases participation by under-represented constituencies in the NWSA.

2. What additional information would you like to share regarding your application and your participation in the NWSA Conference 2008?
