The Program Administration and Development Committee (PA&D) is a standing committee in NWSA specifically designed to represent the interests and needs of administrators of women's studies or gender studies programs and departments to the Governing Council of NWSA and to assist NWSA in meeting the needs of women's / gender studies administrators and their departments and programs.

NWSA Data Collection Project

NWSA partnered with the National Organization for Research (NORC) at the University of Chicago to collect data on the field of women’s studies nationally.

Women of Color Leadership

The WoCLP is designed to increase the number of women of color students and faculty within the field of women’s studies / gender studies and, consequently, to have an impact on the levels of participation and power by women of color in the PA&D, NWSA, and in the field of women’s studies / gender studies as a whole.

Governance

This section includes reports, recommendations, constitution, bylaws, elections, policies and so forth.


NWSA SCHOLARSHIP IN JEWISH WOMEN'S STUDIES

NATIONAL WOMENS STUDIES ASSOCIATION:
JEWISH CAUCUS SCHOLARSHIP $1000

The award will be given to a GRADUATE STUDENT who is enrolled for the 2007/2008 academic year and who has a special interest in the lives, work and culture of Jewish Women.

You will need to provide the following information:

  • Name, Address, E-mail address
    Home Phone, Work Phone
  • University, Department
  • MA or Ph.D. candidate
  • Major Study Area
  • Dissertation/Thesis title
  • Expected Date of Completion
  • Two Letters of Recommendation

The Scholarship Review Committee would like you to attach a statement of no more than five pages addressing the following:

  1. Demonstrate your preparation for conducting research in Jewish Women’s Studies. Please include a one-page abstract of your thesis or dissertation proposal.

  2. How have your activities demonstrated your interest in Jewish life and feminist life on campus or in your community?

  3. What additional information about you, such as your background and other influences, might shed light on how you understand the relationship of feminism and Judaism?

Preference will be given to those whose research shows evidence of the application of feminist methodology to the study of Jewish women’s experience or expression.

NOTIFICATION OF THE AWARD WILL BE SENT  BY June 1
