NWSA offers thee annual scholarships and awards
through its communities
and conference registration scholarships

DEADLINE FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS:
MAY 1ST EACH CALENDAR YEAR


NWSA Graduate Scholarship Award $1,000

The deadline for submissions is May 1, Each Calendar Year

NWSA will award $1,000 to a student who, in the fall of the year of the award, will be engaged in the research or writing stages of a Master's Thesis or Ph.D. Dissertation in the interdisciplinary field of women's studies.

The research project must be on women and must enhance the NWSA mission.
Applicants must be members of NWSA at the time of application.

Lesbian Caucus Scholarship $500.00

The deadline for submissions is May 1, Each Calendar Year

The purpose of the annual NWSA Lesbian Caucus Award is to provide a $500 research award in recognition of a Master’s Thesis or Doctoral Dissertation research project that resonates with the mission of NWSA and the goals of the Lesbian Caucus.

NWSA WOMEN OF COLOR CAUCUS AWARDS
Four Awards of $500.00 each

Four Awards are available in the following categories:

  1. Graduate Students of African descent
  2. Graduate Students of Latina descent
  3. Graduate Students of Asian/Asian-American/Pacific-Islander/ Arab/Middle East Asian descent
  4. Graduate Students of African Native American/American Indian/Alaskan Native descent

The deadline for submissions in each category is May 1, Each Calendar Year
Winners will be notified on or around June 1, Each Calendar Year.

All scholarship applicants are encouraged to apply for NWSA Conference Scholarship Awards if assistance is needed for NWSA conference participation.

NWSA Conference Registration Scholarship/Travel Grant

NWSA is able to offer 100 Conference Registration grants to presenters. Students, scholars and activists with a demonstrated need for financial assistance are encouraged to apply.

Particular consideration will be given to assisting student presenters and emerging scholars who have not previously received NWSA grants. The grants are also intended to encouraging the participation in NWSA of individuals whose presence enriches the diversity of and increases participation by under-represented constituencies in the NWSA.

The Application process will begin following conference proposal acceptance notifications


All scholarship applicants must be current NWSA members.

If you are not a member, but your institution is, ask them to add you as one of their Institutional student members.

Three student memberships are included with Institutional membership and there is no charge.
